Riley Madison Fletcher,15, passed away Feb. 12, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center.
A Celebration of her life will be held 5:00PM Monday Feb. 19 at the Saltwater Grill in Swansboro.
Riley was a freshman at Swansboro High School where she sang in theschoolchorus. She had a beautiful voice and was often found on the porchsingingwith Jack Kettner and Justin Castellano, who were always happy to let her join in on their jams sessions. Riley listened to all kinds of music and was a talented writer. She wrote many stories and was a poet. She even won the 7th grade poetry contest when she sang her poem to the audience. She also loved drama. She performed at Carteret Community Theatre in the production of “Wicked”; “Goodness Only Knows” at Swansboro Middle School and “A Christmas Carol” at the Legacy Theatre in Jacksonville.Riley's best friend was her dog Lil' Dude, who she loved with all her heart.Riley was a contestant in several beauty pageants and was so thrilled to come home with a crown even though the dresses made her itch!! Riley was her mother’s heart and soul every single day of her precious life and will be truly missed by many. Riley loved music and theatre but she absolutely hated math. She could often be seen on her paddleboard enjoying "The Salt Life" of beautiful downtown Swansboro.
Surviving Riley are her parents, Lisa Crane Fletcher of Swansboro and Jonathan Patrick Fletcher of South Carolina; a half-sister, Savannah Paige Fletcher of Beaufort; Grandparents, Lawrence and Sandra WyrickCrane of Maysville; Judith and Phillip Byrd of Emerald Isle and Danny and Elaine Fletcher of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by her Aunts Roxanne Crane Jones, Patricia Crane, Kathleen Crane Ferrell, Amy L. Eaton and many others whom she loved dearly.
