Estelle (Riggs) Banks

Estelle went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2018. She was born August 5th, 1920 to Levi and Esther Riggs, both deceased. Estelle was a faithful member of Grants Creek Baptist Church since her childhood, where she served in many capacities during that time.

She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Alfred “Sells” Banks, whom she was married to for over 50 years. After marriage, they lived and worked on a farm, while also opening a convenience store on Piney Green Road. During this time Estelle was also working as a cafeteria manager at Morton School. After retirement from the school she went to college and got her CNA license and worked with the Onslow County Home Health and Hospice for another 15 years before retiring from there.    

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son ,Arthur Brent Banks and daughter Patricia Ann Banks, both of Maysville; three grandsons, Len Wayne Banks and wife Angie;  William Alfed “Al” Walton and wife Lorraine, Howard Brent Banks and wife Kim; four great grandchildren, Len Banks II, Tandy Brammer, Nichole Barnes and Dylan Banks  and four great great  grandchildren, Caia Banks, Chase Barnes, Callie and Chris Brammer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00PM at the Grants Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Golden and Rev. Steve Grissom officiating. Private burial will be in the Dogwood Memorial Cemetery in Maysville . Visitation Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the fellowship hall of the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Grants Creek Baptist Church 1401 Old 30 Road Maysville, NC 28555  Online condolences may be send at saylandfuneralhome.com.
