Albert Brylowe II Obituary

A beloved husband and father, Albert Brylowe II left our world suddenly around 10pm on Tuesday, October 22. Al, or Bud, as his family knows him, was born August 4, 1946 to Albert and June Brylowe, in Hartford, Connecticut. As a young man, he lived in Connecticut, served his country in the Marine Corps, and worked as a lineman, a chemical engineer, a computer salesman and a computer programmer. His daughter Thora was born in 1971 when he was stationed in Jacksonville, NC. He married Pamela Brylowe, the love of his life, on February 1, 1974. In 1994, feeling the pull of warm weather and low taxes, they returned to North Carolina and settled in Trenton. Pam and Al joined the Methodist Church and the board of Habitat for Humanity. Al was a mason and an active member of Eastern Star. He loved to sing and found an outlet in the Southern Gentlemen and in his own Barbershop quartet, Chapter II. More recently he joined the barbershop chorus in Jacksonville. He was a devoted Christian, and it seems he was put in this earth to be everyone’s helper. He wrote the church program every week and ran the AV for Sunday services. He took great pride in his position as Lay Leader, he taught Sunday School, and was always ready to step in and preach or sing anytime he was needed. During and in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, which flooded the area, he worked tirelessly to help his neighbors in distress. His love for his family was boundless. He was our quickest punster, our cleverest fixer of everything broken, and our favorite motorcyclist. He took a good picture and loved a good sunset. His smile and optimism brightened everyone’s day. He is survived by his wife Pam and his daughter Thora, who lives in Colorado with her husband, David Boggess, and Al’s three grandchildren, Annabel, Duncan and David. We, along with countless others, miss him beyond measure. We take solace in his faith and the knowledge he has gone to join his parents and brother in a better place.

A memorial service will be held this Sunday, October 27, at 3pm at the Trenton Missionary Baptist Church, 205 Jones Street, Trenton, NC, 28585. The family will hold visiting hours at Pam and Al’s home church, the Trenton United Methodist Church, immediately after the service.
