Lonnie Jewel Collins was born April 11, 1950. He is a native of Peletier, NC and died at home at the age of 69 on March 25, 2020. Lonnie was a Vietnam Veteran who served 10 years in the Army. He retired from civil service doing mechanic work. He loved being outside in his garage working on the numerous vehicles for his friends and family or on his beloved John Deere tractor. If he wasn't found in his garage you could find him in his garden with his kids. He would help any person who came his way with any problem. Lonnie was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be truly missed by many but his memory will live on forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Ollie Collins and his beloved Golden Retrievers Brandy and Ziva. He is survived by his wife Judy, his children, David (Jesy), Travis (Lee), and Shanna (Truitt)Blalock, his 3 grandchildren Lisa, Ginnie, and TJ, his great grandchild Abigail, his siblings Donnie, Sandra, Gloria, and Jewell, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins who looked up to him, and his Australian Shepherd Addie-Grace.
