Roger Lee Jones

Roger Lee Jones, 74, of Maysville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 23, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Sudie Mills Jones.

Roger was employed by Martin Marietta for a little over 44 years and retired on November 6, 2007. Roger enjoyed hunting, running dogs, playing ball, playing cornhole, riding the children on the gator, mowing the grass, watching baseball, and sitting on the patio watching the cars go by. He was a member of White Oak Hunting Club and Township 9 Hunting Club.

He was a dedicated husband, brother, father, Pepaw, and great Pepaw. Roger was married to his loving wife, Dorothy for 53 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife, Dorothy Carol Jones; Sons: Robin Jones and Scotty Jones; Sisters: Jackie Morris (Elwood), Nell Jones-Pierce, Connie Dunn (Ron), and Bea Lynch (Jim); Brother: Dennis Jones (Betty); grandchildren: CJ Drysdale(Ruhi), Alexis Franco (Christian), Courtney Lang (Trey), Dakota Jones, Wes Jones, and Matthew Jones; great grandchildren: Olivia, Ryder, Paul Drysdale and Emerie Lang; and many nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you to Caregiver and friend, Tomeki Brinson.

A big thank you to Community Hospice for all they have done.

Visitation will be Saturday January 25th at Maysville United Methodist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral will be Sunday, January 26th  at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Maysville United Methodist Church .
