Ruby Riggs Archer was a beloved and cherished wife, mother, granny, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother. A woman who always gave everything she had from her heart. She was a living example of LOVE! God called our angel home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the age of 86. Born October 4, 1936, a native of Swansboro and a longtime resident of Jacksonville. She was a homemaker and was a receptionist at Sayland Funeral Home for many years.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Caton of Cape Carteret and Bill Archer of Bogue; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Booher, Brandy Reid, Crystal Henson, and Christy Goforth; 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was an active member of Seaside Chapter #238 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Crystal Coast Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Julia Wetherington Riggs; her brother, William P. Riggs; her husband, Kenneth Archer and her son, Bob Archer.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday Feb, 13th in the Chapel of the Sayland Funeral Home with the Rev. H. C. Hardesty officiating. The service will conclude with Eastern Star Rites, Private interment will be at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
