Sara Nell Newton Thompson, 94, passed away May 1, 2022 at Carolina East Medical Center. Our dear mother is now where she always wanted to be and we cannot even imagine what a glorious sight it was that greeted her when she entered the gates of Heaven and saw Jesus. We celebrate through our tears that she is now with her Saviour and that we all had such precious time with her during the last few days and have so many precious memories of her. We thank God that she and Daddy gave us such a solid foundation grounded in faith that will sustain us through this difficult time. She was truly a wonderful example of the Proverbs 31 Woman. Thank you everyone for your outpouring of love and support. 

Sara Nell is survived by her son, Leonard “Mac” McCall Thompson III (Janet) and their children and grandchildren; Leonard “Len” McCall Thompson IV(Carrie); Alexandra Thompson, Abbey Thompson, Summer Thompson, Logan Thompson and Riley Thompson and her daughter, Lynn Gray(Charles) and their children, Kaitlin Gray and Kristin Gray and her brother, Ronnie Newton.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM in the Maysville United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Williams officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at the conclusion of the service. Burial will be private in the Dogwood Memorial Cemetery in Maysville. This is a “Celebration of Life!”  Our mother would be the first to say that black is not required. She loved bright colors, so please feel free not to wear black.
