Teresa Norris (Horne) Grice

Teresa Norris (Horne) Grice, age 64, passed away peacefully at her home in New Bern on Sunday July 31,2022 with her family by her side.

Teresa, also known as “Tese” to her close friends and family, was born June 9,1958 to the late Gorman Ray Horne and Marilyn King Horne of Maysville. Teresa was always creative and smart, and as a child she enjoyed reading and playing the piano. She graduated from Jones Senior High School in 1976 and later got married and welcomed two children, Amber and Ryan. When they entered school, she could be counted on to bake cupcakes for their classrooms and always designed the best Halloween costumes for them. 

When her kids were older, Teresa took a job at BSH in New Bern, where she met the love of her life, Dana. Together they made a beautiful home and enjoyed spending time together there or going fishing on their pontoon boat. After leaving BSH, Teresa spent much of her time taking care of the people she loved and doing her best to keep everyone in line; her flawless organizational skills certainly came in handy.

Teresa will be missed dearly by her husband of nearly two decades, Dana Earl Grice;her mother, Marilyn King Horne; her son, Ryan Norris; her daughter, Amber Norris Bell and son-in-law, Scott; step-sons, Dana Jr., Daniel and Brenton Grice; grandchildren, Nate Norris and Jackson Bell; sister, Sheila “Lisa” Gawlowski (Rick); brothers,Wade Horne and Wayne Horne (Tamatha) and a plethora of friends and extended family, including in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

At Teresa’s request, private services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022. Online condolences may be sent to saylandfuneralhome.com. Services entrusted to Sayland Funeral Home in Maysville.
